I care a great deal about fostering engagement and aim to make the class atmosphere as inclusive and psychologically “safe” for all students. I firmly believe that students are most likely to truly learn and engage in the course material in this type of environment. I design my curriculum based around student needs to help them apply course concepts to their lives and develop a toolkit of concepts they can use in the future.
I am passionate about developing equitable, inclusive, and bias-free grading practices. See below for several resources and examples.

"Professor Foster–Gimbel's class is truly a judge–free zone. One term I would use for her is "she gets it". Good days, bad, medium– she gets it without question. I truly admired having her this semester. She's a bright rockstar!"
"She has encouraged my intellectual growth by providing numerous opportunities for group work and collaboration that can be applied to our personal careers and learn more about how to effectively communicate. She was engaging and able to generate more discussion because the material was very relatable."
"Instead of lecture, Professor OFG created a hands on learning by doing group exercises in class and role play exercises that related directly to the readings from the textbook and relevant course work."
